If i was a bird

If I was a bird

Someone once asked me a question,

If I was a bird what would I be?

I replied to them, I would be a humming bird you see

My wings would hum along every time I fly

I’m too fast even for the cat’s eye!

My wings would flap at least fifty times a second

I would be with you as soon as I was beckoned

I could fly frontwards backward and even upside down

My feathers would almost look as if I wear a colorful gown

I eat flower nectar because I’m not a very good packet reader

but nothing makes me happier then when I’m eating from my recycled bottle feeder!

I really like the structure! It reminds me of the classic books 'Fox in Socks' and 'Green Eggs And Ham'! i especially like the 3rd and 4th lines

I thoroughly enjoyed reading the poem. I thought it was very creative.It gave me lots of information on Humming birds and made me want to make a recycled bottle feeder myself to encourage the colourful bird into my garden!
