Issue #006, March 20, 2012. In this Issue: 1) Updated Hummingbird Migration Sightings & Map 2012. The Long Awaited Hummingbird Migration 2012!Happy First Day of Spring! This winter has been a mild one here in Vermont and the rest of the country. Jim and I are used to shaking away our March "Cabin Fever" by setting up lawn chairs with an umbrella in our living room. We turn on the Jamaican music, turn up the thermostat, sit back in our Burmuda shorts and sip a few Margaritas! However, this March we are sitting in our lawn chairs in our backyard and basking in the 80 degree sunshine......Go Figure? The Hummingbirds have started their migration. Will they be earlier this year???? We can only hope. We have been receiving migration sightings from several states so far this Spring and our visitors have been updating our Migration Map with their sightings. You can follow the migration sightings and post yours when the time comes. To get an estimation of this years arrival in your area you can go to our Migration Sighting/Map of 2011 to see when the Hummers arrived last year. See the Spring Migration Map 2011 to help you estimate the arrival of hummingbirds in your area.New Hummingbird Feeders and Gifts!Take a look at this interesting Plant Hanger with Hummingbird Tube Feeders. You can actually see the hummingbird's tongue move in and out of the clear glass tube as it sips the nectar. In my opinion this is v-e-r-y cute! Jim has been busy also adding new nature gifts to our gift section. We now have some beautiful porcelain Bird Houses and Bird Feeders for our other feathered friends.
New Hummingbird Flower Pages! If our good luck continues with this great weather many of us will begin planting our flowers earlier this Spring. The New Flower Pages that we added are: Bee Balm, Butterfly Bush, Salvia, Phlox and Morning Glory. These are among the most popular flowers visited by hummingbirds. You will also find links to purchase them from our direct supplier which will save you cash on the product and on the gas tank! If you haven't already, you just might like to become a fan on our Hummingbird Guide Facebook page! It's "A-buzz" with activity and has been growing by leaps and bounds! Please visit Our Store.
